Art Therapy in Saskatoon

You don’t need to have all the words to begin. Art therapy offers children, teens, and adults another way to express themselves and explore what matters.

Work with master’s-trained art therapist and psychotherapist Tanya Negrey, who brings more than 25 years of postgraduate clinical experience.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy combines creative expression with a professional therapeutic relationship. Drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and other materials offer ways to explore feelings and experiences alongside conversation. The focus is on your experience and goals, rather than producing a particular kind of artwork.

You can talk, make art, or move between the two. Materials and invitations are adapted to your interests, comfort, and needs. No artistic experience is required.

Who might find this approach helpful?

You may be looking for support for yourself, or for a child or teen who struggles to explain what they are feeling.

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
  • Grief, loss, and life transitions
  • Trauma and difficult experiences
  • Emotional regulation, confidence, and self-expression
  • Relationships, identity, and self-understanding
  • Individual needs associated with ADHD or autism

We discuss what you would like help with and whether art therapy is a suitable fit. Exploring difficult experiences is paced with your readiness and consent.
